Jackie’s Birthday and Other

Well on Saturday I threw a birthday party for Jackie. She turned 24 that day. I went out and got her a new iPod since hers was old and shabby. The whole crew came over and we had a lot of fun. b brought over his powerizers and we watched him jump around on them. I even got to try them out.. but I was too fat so I couldn’t jump in them. I was over the weight limit just being in them. The Tigers lost and that really sucked but we all had a lot of fun stuffing big league chew in our mouths and putting on hats backwards, sideways and upside down. We played Cranium and drank a lot. Check out the pictures here.

Then on Sunday we all started back up on football. Pretty good turnout for week 1. we had a good 7 on 7. Many are sore but that is expected when you first start off for the year. Plus it was cold and rainy.

Lions Who?

How crazy is this. So me, Jackie and a couple of friends of mine went downtown to The Detroit Beer Company to watch the game and be part of what we hoped would be a good game and celebrate the Tigers going to the World Series. Well we got exactally that. What more can you as for than a walk off homer in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs to send your team to the World Series.

We were sitting there and yeah it was a good game. Right down to the wire. Two outs. Magglio Ordonez at the plate. A player who was criticized all year for not putting up the power numbers we had all hoped out of him. He had already hit one home run today. My head dropped. I thought he was going to strike out. The laws of averages were not in our favor. We were due for a disappointment. He already hit one.. what are the chances he hits another. So my head dropped and my friends mocked me. I said I didn’t have faith that he was going to hit it. OH MAN WAS I WRONG!!!!!. He swung at the ball and crushed it into left field. Like a buzzer beater in basketball or an overtime goal in hockey of a hail mary in football. A walk-off homerun in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs to win the ALCS. People can only dream of this stuff. And for the fans, after losing 119 games just 3 years ago, We have something to cheer about in October here in Detroit.

HOW GREAT IS THIS!!! Lions who………

Employee of the Month

Well it was kinda funny because Jackie was saying we need to see the movie Employee of the Month because This month I am Employee of the Month at my work. So Jackie, Paul, Rudz and I went to see it and I really didn’t think it would be that good of a movie but it ended up being one of those funny movies that was just so slap-stick like funny that you will end up watching it again sometime. So the reviews for this movie are 2 Thumbs up

Detroit Tigers

Kenny Rogers Pumped UpNow I will admit, I could be considered a bandwagon fan. I have not watched an entire Tigers game since I was about 6 years old I think. I don’t even remember who was playing or who won or anything about it. The Tigers have sucked almost my entire life. I started watching them this year after they started winning. I just watched my first baseball game from begining to end tonight and it was absolutely amazing. Kenny Rogers was lights out, shutting down arguably the best lineup in baseball. Over the entire time the Tigers sucked I hadn’t watched a game. Why would you want to. I wasnt a huge baseball fan and all they ever did was lose games. I have always been a fan of playoff baseball and have watched many playoff games. But to have your team playing playoff baseball is something that my generation has just simply never seen and I hope that everyone from my generation had an opportunity take it all in. This whole season has been amazing.. Now if we can only get the Lions to make the playoffs.

A new Marriage

Over the last weekend, two of my good friends got married. Randy Moss married Heather Poxon (now Heather Moss) at The Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit, Michigan on September 30th, 2006. We all had a ton of fun at the wedding itself and at the reception. Braun gave his best impression of the Old School Best Man Speech until Paul took over for the real speech. It was a really good speech and I hope to get it all posted and encoded as soon as possible for everybody to see. The look on Randy’s face when he figured out what was going on was priceless. Until I can get some of the videos up, here are some Pictures
